Story Development

What is it like making a story? Lets have a look how the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs story has started.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, 1937
It is not easy to develop a story. It takes a lot of time and effort to make a story like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It goes through a lot of changes in the plot and character. Sometimes small changes and sometimes big.

It wasn't about Snow White when Walt Disney first started out making this film. He wanted it to be about dwarfs. But as time past by it slowly turned it focus to the relationship between Snow White and the Queen.

When it was decided that the focus of the story would be Snow White, some parts of story had to be rewritten and some sequences cut. It is a painful job but it has to be done for the sake of a good story.

There also was a time when the story seemed not be progressing. Disney had put it off for a while. But as time passed by, he was encouraged and went back to work again.

The process of story making might be toilsome and hard, if you keep on trying, you'll get a rewarding well written story that everyone will enjoy. This is what story makers do. They keep trying.
