Lightning McQueen is back for 'The Radiator Springs 500 ½'

Entertainment Weekly reported that a new short from Pixar is coming later this spring exclusively on Disney Movies Anywhere. While we might have been disappointed for the delay of The Good Dinosaur we sure can cope and wait while enjoying treats like this.

Here is the synopsis for Tales from Radiator Springs a six minutes short that will be the first short from Tales from Radiator Springs series:

The gang is enjoying a Founders Day celebration to honor the late Stanley when a gang of Baja racers descend on the town and challenge Lightning to a race.

This short comes from Rob Gibbs, who previously directed Moon Mater and Air Mater says, “We kind of played it up like a western,  These off-road racers come to town, like gunslingers looking for the hottest gunslinger in Radiator Springs, Lightning McQueen. They challenge him to a race, like someone would challenge someone to a duel.”

I am pretty excited about this film, I loved the first Cars, and Pixar proved cars can be entertaining. The second Tales from Radiator Springs is in works for 2015.
