Review #59 | Home

When Oh, a loveable misfit from another planet, lands on Earth and finds himself on the run from his own people, he forms an unlikely friendship with an adventurous girl named Tip who is on a quest of her own. Through a series of comic adventures with Tip, Oh comes to understand that being different and making mistakes is all part of being human. And while he changes her planet and she changes his world, they discover the true meaning of the word HOME.

Story | It starts very quickly and ‘the world invasion’ proceeds really quickly unlike other films. For Boov, invading a planet is a piece of cake but to arrest a Boov named ‘Oh’ seems to be very hard. The story seems to fly by the unimportant stuff (world invasion) to come to an important plot line where ‘Oh’ meet a teenage girl ‘Tip’ who wants to find her mother. They get together to go on an adventure and thus, they get to know each other.

They compromise with each other to get what they want. ‘Tip’ wants find her mom, and ‘Oh’ just wants to justify his mistakes. I was surprised to see that the story was not that simple but it had some twists in the end. I am glad to say that I wasn’t disappointed with this movie after some negative reviews on the internet. I was not sure if I would like the character ‘Oh’ but despite his unattractive design, he was loveable. Home is a fun family movie magic.

Art | The art of this movie is just marvelous, the only defect was the character design of Boov, for me, it was too simple and unattractive. Paris looks so imaginative and that fantastical hovering car of Tip’s is magical.

Characters | To be honest, most characters from ‘Home’ were simple and stupid. Captain Smek was annoying, and the other Boovs and Humans alike were dumb and naïve.

Music | What saved ‘Home’ from being completely boring because of the character's simplistic features was the music. The music from ‘Home’ served as the energy of the movie. It made you feel what the character feels through the music more than from character’s actions.

Creativity | ‘Home’ is creative with full of imagination. It lacks credence but the Boov’s ‘gravity manipulation system’ was beautiful to see.

Underdogs is an Argentine computer-animated comedy film that has been released back in 2013. Here's a trailer for it.

This looks like fabulous comedic soccer animated feature that makes me want to watch it! Underdogs will come into US theaters on August 14, 2015.

Hotel Transylvania has gone through several changes: the hotel is now opened to human guests; Mavis and Johnny have a baby boy, Dennis, whose lack of any vampire abilities worries Count Dracula. When Mavis and Johnny go on a visit to Johnny's parents, Dracula calls his friends Frank, Murray, Wayne and Griffin to help him put Dennis through a "monster-in-training" boot camp. Meanwhile, Vlad, the grumpy vampire father of Dracula, arrives at the hotel and, to his dissatisfaction, finds out that his great-grandson is not a pure blood vampire and that the hotel now accepts humans.

'Inside Out' Receives Rave Reviews

It is safe to say that Pixar Animation Studios' Inside Out is an another masterpiece. Inside Out was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and earned an incredible reception from the critics.

'Ratchet & Clank' Release Date Announced

Ratchet & Clank will premiere at Cannes Film Festival this May but what was planed for a 2015 release date has changed to April 29, 2016 release date.

Ratchet & Clank is a computer animated feature film based on a video game. The film will be an origin story that retells the events of the original Ratchet & Clank, depicting how Ratchet and Clank met each other as they attempt to save the Solana Galaxy from being destroyed by Chairman Drek and the Blarg. However, the film will expand on various plot points in greater detail, and will also incorporate some elements from later series entries, such as the introduction of Doctor Nefarious and the Galactic Rangers. The trailer shows its film's unique animation style and old school comic book humor. I am personally very excited about this movie and hope that it will remain as a classic throughout the ages.

'The Good Dinosaur' New Synopsis

Pixar Animation Studio's sixteenth feature film, The Good Dinosaur, underwent big plot changes over the year, and now it has new synopsis.

"The Good Dinosaur" asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? The Good Dinosaur is currently planned to be released this November.

Aardman Animations Announces 'Early Man'

With the success of Shaun the Sheep Movie, Aardman Animations is working on their next big movie, Early Man. Here's the official synopsis:

Set at the dawn of time, when dinosaurs and woolly mammoths roamed the earth, ‘Early Man’ tells the story of how one plucky caveman unites his tribe against a mighty enemy and saves the day!

This ambitious project is currently slated for 2018.
